Aphasia Center Staff help to start New Aphasia Organization

The Aphasia Center of California is a founding member of AphasiaAccess, a new North American non-profit organization for providers of the Life Participation Approach to Aphasia (LPAA). The mission of AphasiaAccess is to grow a network of healthcare, business, and community leaders to advance lifelong communication access for people with aphasia. The inaugural AphasiaAccess leadership conference was recently hosted by Boston University on March 13th and 14th, 2015.

More than 150 LPAA providers gathered in Boston from throughout the United States and Canada to share cutting edge aphasia research and treatment techniques. Aphasia Center of California’s Founder & President, Dr. Roberta Elman, was an invited speaker and presented a platform session on the opening day of the conference. Dr. Elman also serves on the Board of Directors of AphasiaAccess. You can learn more about AphasiaAccess at www.AphasiaAccess.org
