ACC’s Communication Training for Healthcare Personnel

Thanks to a grant from the East Bay Foundation on Aging, in partnership with the San Francisco Foundation, the Aphasia Center of California is providing training to healthcare organizations. This training concentrates on teaching effective communication techniques and strategies in order to support people with aphasia in communicating their healthcare needs.

ACC staff are teaching communication techniques and strategies that are useful whenever a language barrier is encountered, including when people speak other languages, or from various communication challenges. Organizations that have received our communication training include the Alameda County Emergency Medical Services, Center for Elders’ Independence, LIFE ElderCare, and Bay Area Community Services.  If your business or organization is interested in receiving communication training for your staff, please contact us at 510.336.0112.
